में प्रवेश करके जहाँ जितशत्रु राजा का भवन और जहाँ राजा की बाह्य उपस्थानशाला थी, वहाँ आकर घोडों को रोका, रथ को खडा किया और फिर रथ से नीचे उतरा।
(b) Then, on hearing the compliance of his orders Chitta Saarthi became happy. He took his bath after exercise. He then adorned his forehead with auspicious substances. Then he wore the armour well as tightly fastened the piece of cloth to the bow, put on the necklace and his auspicious symbols. He took his arms and weapons and the great grift. He then came to the horse-driven chariot having four bells and got into it.
Thereafter he in the company of many men wearing arms and weapons decorated himself with a big umbrella decorated with garlands of Korant flowers. He started from his house with many soldiers and chariots through Seyaviya town. He then with his men taking rest in between and camping on the way wherever needed, passing through Kekaya-ardh state came to Shravasti town in Kunala district. He then entered Shravasti town and came to the palace of king Jitashatru and stopped his horses at the outer royal council-hall. He stopped the chariot and stepped down.
(ग) तं महत्थं जाव पाहुडं गिण्हइ जेणेव अभिंतरिया उवट्ठाणसाला जेणेव जियसत्तू राया तेणेव उवागच्छइ, जियसत्तुं रायं करयलपरिग्गहियं जाव कटु जएणं विजएणं वद्धावेति, तं महत्थं जाव पाहुडं उवणेइ।
तए णं से जियसत्तू राया चित्तस्स सारहिस्स तं महत्थं जाव पाहुडं पडिच्छइ। चित्तं । सारहिं सक्कारेइ सम्माणेइ पडिविसज्जेइ रायमग्गमोगाढं च से आवासं दलयइ।
(ग) तदनन्तर उस बहुमूल्य भेट को साथ लेकर आभ्यन्तर उपस्थानशाला (भीतरी बैठक) में जहाँ जितशत्रु राजा बैठा था, वहाँ आया। दोनो हाथ जोडकर जय-विजय शब्दों से जितशत्रु राजा का अभिनन्दन किया और फिर वह बहुमूल्य उपहार भेंट किया।
जितशत्रु राजा ने चित्त सारथी द्वारा भेंट किये गये इस उपहार को स्वीकार किया एव चित्त सारथी का सत्कार-सम्मान किया और विश्राम करने के लिए राजमार्ग पर स्थित आवास स्थान पर भेज दिया।
