वदन- नमस्कार करके न तो अधिक दूर और न अधिक निकट किन्तु उनके सम्मुख यथायोग्य स्थान पर बैठकर शुश्रूषा और नमस्कार करते हुए सविनय अंजलि करके पर्युपासना - सेवा करने लगी।
(b) “O the blessed ! When simply hearing the names and status of Shramans results in great benefit, going to them, bowing to them, seeking spiritual clarifications from them and serving them shall certainly result in extreme advantage that cannot be estimated.
A word from a true saint (Arya) is of great benefit, therefore, learning many facts from them shall be of immense advantage.
So, O the blessed ! Let us all go to them (the Shramans), bow to them, respect them, honour them with full faith. Their sight is auspicious beneficial, godly and knowledge personifier. Let us serve them humbly."
(Bowing to them and greeting them in respect is for our welfare in the present life and the life thereafter. It is pleasure-giving, it is for our welfare and shall be for our welfare in future. Similarly it shall be helping in our welfare for many many lives.)
With suchlike thoughts, the people came out in large numbers, they greeted Keshi Kumar Shraman thrice, bowed to him moving their hands in a circle. Thereafter, they sat in front of him (neither very far nor very near) and started exhibiting their devotion.
विवेचन - केशीकुमार श्रमण के श्रावस्ती मे पधारने पर अपार जनसमूह का उनके दर्शनार्थ उमडना और उनकी परस्पर चर्चा व हृदय की भावना का चित्रण यह प्रकट करता है कि उनके प्रति श्रावस्ती निवासियो के मन मे कितनी अपार श्रद्धा, भक्ति और उच्च कोटि की धार्मिक आस्था थी । लोग उनका नाम सुनना ही महान् भाग्योदय का फल मानते है, उनके दर्शन करना और उनकी वाणी सुनना तो लोक-परलोक के कल्याण की निशानी मानते है । इन शब्दो से पता चलता है श्रावस्ती निर्ग्रन्थ धर्म का विशेष केन्द्र रहा है और वहाँ के निवासी श्रमणो के प्रति अतीव श्रद्धा-भक्ति रखते थे । उनका आगमन सुनते ही समुद्र की लहरो की तरह उमडते थे। इस वर्णन से यह भी पता चलता है कि सभी वर्णों के लोग-क्षत्रिय, सेनापति, श्रेष्ठी, सार्थवाह, ग्रामीणजन व सेवा कार्य करने वाले लोग सब मिल-जुलकर, सज-धजकर श्रमणो के दर्शन करने, उनका प्रवचन सुनने उत्साहपूर्वक जाते थे।
