Finally, she was initiated as Aryikas after some month's congregational disciplines in 1956 at the age of 22 and was again christened as Gyanmatiji the final name she still bears today. She was blessed to keep her name in quality. Thus she became the full Jain Sadhwi in the Digambera order within five years of her first initiation a rare case.
Since 1953, she has about 30 rainy residenses at different places. She has widely travelled throughout the country from north to south and east to west gaining maturity and widening experience about the nature of world and its inhabitants. Self-study an teaching to juniors has been her routine besides her equanimous condustal practices. This has given her mastery over Jain texts and a capacity for writing or translating books at a faster rate. However, she has been mostly concentrating her activities in westen Uttarpradesh at Hastinapur in Merrut District a holy place of antiquity since Rsnabnea's time and associated with Mahabharat, Rakshabandhan, four auspicious events of three Jain Tirthankaras (16, 17 & 18) and many other noted and mythological incidents. She has become now the Ganini-the group leader of her number of disciples. She has passed three stages of her ascetic life-initiation, self-study and group leadership and she is to follow three others-the soul search, holy death and attaining highest place of non-return according to Mulachara. She has been highly active throughout her initiated years and her body seems to yield on occasions telling her that it cannot cope with her mentally active rate. Still, she seems not to worry about body too much, though she has many resignational activities in current times. Activities of Ganiniji
The internal and external penances undertaken by a Jain ascetic make him highly energetic-both physically and spiritually. This makes one highly active. Gainiji is no exception to this issue. She works a normally 18 hours a day. Out of which about 4 hours are utilised in routine ascetic practices and 7-8 hours are utilised in self-study, writing, teaching and sermonising. She satisfies the conductal and religious quarries of visitors. Her shining aural face depiots her internal energy casting attractive impressions on her visitors. Her multifarious activities to the cause of Jainistic glorification may be summarised under some heads below. (a) Literary and academic activities
While a junior Sadhwi and travelling with her preceptor, she studied Katantra Sanskrit Grammar to become well-versed in three R's of sanskrit at the age of 20. This led her to her first ever composition in Sanskrit in terms of 1000-named eulogy of Jinas at 21. Later, this was followed by many such eulogies exceeding two dozens. She studied Jain texts of logic and tenets by herself and through preceptors for ten years which gave her soundness, seriousness and depth of knowledge encouraging her to involve in literary contributions. The godess of learning bestowed eloquene upon her both in writing and speech. However, it was her rainy residence at Shravan belgola (Karnataka) that made her truly literary from the early 1965. An unparalled volume of literature covering many forms has come out from her in terms of nearly 170 books (some unpublished) during fast 25 years classified under following heads: 1.
