भवानी शंकर नियोगी महाशयकी अध्यक्षतामें दिगम्बर मुनि श्री सुमतिसागरजी का सार्वजनिक भाषण, हजारों व्यक्तियोंकी उपस्थितिमें हुआ था। उसे सुनकर जस्टिस नियोगीजीकी आत्मा अत्यन्त प्रभावित हुई और उन्होंने कहा - आज इन मुनिराजके दर्शन कर मुझे बहुत प्रकाश मिला। कहाँ तो ये साधू जो बिना किसी परिग्रह निश्चिन्ततापू अंक जीवन व्यतीत करते हैं और कहाँ हम जो बहुत-सी सामग्री एकत्रित कर शान्तिलाभ करनेके लिये प्रयत्न करते हैं ।' देशगौरव दि० आचार्य देशभूषण महाराजके समीप स्व० प्रधानमंत्री श्री लालबहादुर रोकाशी प्राप्त किया प्रधान मंत्री इंदिरा गाँधीने श्रमणबेलगोला विधानन्द महाराजको अभिवंदना करते हुए
या । २३ फरवरी १९८१ ई० में जैन तीर्थ में पहुँचकर दि० जैन मुनि उनसे विचार विमर्श किया था ।
जो व्यक्ति अपनी अपरिहार्य साम्प्रदायिक भ्रान्त धारणाओंके कारण ऐसे तपस्वियोंको देखकर क्षोभका अनुभव करते हैं वे नगर में जिन मंदिरदर्शन अथवा भोजन आदि आवश्यक कार्यदेश साधुओंको आते हुए सुन अपने मनोज्ञमुखको दूसरी ओर मोड़ सकते हैं। लेकिन, इसका अर्थ यह नहीं है कि विश्ववन्द्यपदके धारण करनेवाले मुनियोंके नगरादिमें प्रवेशके विषय में शिष्टाचार के नामपर बाधा उपस्थित की जाए ।
प्रोवो कौन्सिलने इस बातका स्पष्टीकरण कर दिया है कि धार्मिक जुलूस शान्तिपूर्वक काम रास्ते में बिना रोक-टोक के ले जाए जा सकते हैं ।"

"Persons of all sects are entitled to conduct religious processions through public streets so that they do not interfere with the ordinary use of such streets by the public and subject such directions as the magistrate may lawfully give to prevent obstructions of the through-fare or breaches of public peace and the worshippers in a mosque or temples which abutted on a highroad could not compel the processionists to interfere their worship while the mosque or temple on the ground that there was continuous worship there." -Manzur Hassan vs. Md.
