१७९-जंबुद्दीवे दीवे अभिइवज्जेहिं सत्तावीसाए एक्खत्तेहिं संववहारे वट्टति। एगमेगे णं # णक्खत्तमासे सत्तावीसाहिं राइंदियाहिं राइंदियग्गेणं पण्णत्ते। सोहम्मीसाणेसु कप्पेसु विमाणपुढवी सत्तावीसं जोयणसयाई बाहल्लेणं पण्णत्ता।
जम्बूद्वीप नामक द्वीप निरूपित है। इस द्वीप में अभिजित् नक्षत्र को छोड़कर शेष नक्षत्रों के द्वारा मास आदि का व्यवहार-प्रवर्तता है। (अभिजित् नक्षत्र का उत्तराषाढा नक्षत्र के चतुर्थ चरण में प्रवेश हो जाता है।) नक्षत्र मास के सत्ताईस दिन-रात की प्रधानता का वर्णन किया गया है। अर्थात् नक्षत्र मास में सत्ताईस दिन होते हैं। सौधर्म ईशान कल्पों में उनके विमानों की पृथ्वी सत्ताईस सौ योजन मोटी कही गई है।
