वा परपायंसि वा अफासुयं जाव णो पडिगाहेज्जा। __से य आहच्च पडिग्गाहिए सिया, खिप्पामेव उदगंसि साहरेज्जा, सपडिग्गहमायाए व णं परिट्ठवेज्जा, ससणिद्धाए व णं भूमीए नियमज्जा। ___२५६. साधु-साध्वी गृहस्थ के घर पर पानी लाने के लिए गये हों और गृहस्थ घर के भीतर सचित्त जल को किसी अन्य बर्तन में निकालकर साधु को देने लगे, तो साधु उस प्रकार के हस्तगत एवं पर-पात्रगत शीतल जल को अप्रासुक और अनेषणीय जानकर ग्रहण न करे।
कदाचित् असावधानी से वह जल साधु ने अपने पात्र में ले लिया हो तो शीघ्र ही उस जल को दाता के पात्र में वापस कर दे। यदि गृहस्थ उस पानी को वापस लेना नहीं चाहे तो फिर उस जलयुक्त पात्र को लेकर किसी स्निग्ध (गीली) भूमि में या अन्य किसी योग्य स्थान में विधिपूर्वक जल का परिष्ठापन कर दे। उस जल से भीगे पात्र को एकान्त स्थान में रख दे।
PROCEDURE OF DRYING A POT
256. When a bhikshu or bhikshuni goes to the house of a layman to seek water and inside the room, the householder fills another pot with sachit water before coming out and offering to the ascetic, he should not accept such water carried by hand in other pot considering it to be faulty and unacceptable.
