विवेचन-सूत्र ३२४ से ३३१ तक आठ सूत्रों में मनोरंजन-स्थलों में होने वाले शब्दों को उत्सुकतापूर्वक सुनने का निषेध किया गया है। संक्षेप में इन सभी मुख्य-मुख्य मनोरंजन एवं कुतूहलवर्द्धक स्थलों में विविध कर्णप्रिय स्वरों के श्रवण की उत्कण्ठा से साधु को दूर रहने की आज्ञा दी है। ___Elaboration-These eight aphorism, 324 to 331 censure eagerness to listen sounds produced at places of entertainment. An ascetic has been directed to avoid eagerness to listen to pleasant sounds in all such important places of entertainment and excitement. ___ विशेष शब्दों के अर्थ-आचारांग वृत्ति, चूर्णि आदि में तथा निशीथसूत्र चूर्णि आदि में प्रतिपादित विशेष शब्दों के अर्थ इस प्रकार हैं-जूहियट्ठाणाणि-जहाँ वर और वधू आदि जोड़ों के मिलन या पाणिग्रहण का जो स्थान (वेदिका, विवाह-मण्डप आदि) हैं, वे स्थान।
अक्खाइयट्ठाणाणि-कथा कहने के स्थान या कथक द्वारा पुस्तक वाचन। माणुम्माणियट्ठाणाणिमान-वजन करने का (मीटर)। उन्मान-गज आदि से नापने के स्थान अर्थात् जहाँ तोल-माप होता हो, मण्डी या बाजार अथवा मानोन्मान का अर्थ है-घोड़े आदि के वेग इत्यादि की परीक्षा करना अथवा एक के बल का माप दूसरे के बल से अनुमानित किया जाए। महयाहत-जोर-जोर से बाजे को पीटना अथवा महाकथानक। महासवाइं-जो भारी आसवों-पापकर्मों के आगमन के स्थान हों। महासवाई का अर्थ वृत्तिकार ने किया है-"महान्येतान्याश्रवस्थानानि पापोपादानस्थानानि वर्तन्ते।" अर्थात् ये महान् आम्रव स्थान-पापोपादान के स्थान हैं। बहूमिलक्खूणि-जिस उत्सव में बहुत-से अव्यक्त भाषी, अनार्य भाषा-भाषी मिलते हैं, वह बहुम्लेच्छ उत्सव। (आचारांग वृत्ति, पत्रांक ४१२; आचारांग चूर्णि टी., पृ. २४५-२४७; निशीथचूर्णि, पृ. ३४८-३५०)
Technical Terms : The meanings of technical terms as given in Acharanga Vritti, Churni (etc.) and Nishith Sutra Churni are as follows-Juhiyatthani—the place where a bride and bride-groom come together or are married. Akkhaiyatthani-place of discourse where scriptures or other books are read to an audience. Maanummaaniyatthani-maan means weight and unmaan is measure. A place where weight and measure is done, in other words a market place. It also means where speed of a horse is compared with that of another or strength of one is measured against another. Mahayahat-to beat a drum with force. It also means an epic. Mahasavaim-according to Vritti it means a place having an abundance of chances of indulging in sinful activities or acquiring bondage of karmas. Bahumilakkhuni--a function where one finds numerous people speaking some other unknown language. A function of many rustics or foreigners.
