CROSSING THE OCEAN
409. Tirthankars (etc.) have said-Just as it is very difficult to cross the endless water-body that is ocean with bare hands; in the same way it is difficult to cross this ocean-like world. Therefore one should know the form of the ocean that is this mundane world and renounce it. A wise ascetic who thus renounces, ends the bondage of karmas. (10) ४१०. जहा य बद्धं इह माणवेहिं या, जहा य तेसिं तु विमोक्ख आहिए।
अहा तहा बंधविमोक्ख जे विऊ, से हु मुणी अंतकडे त्ति वुच्चई॥११॥ ४१०. मानवों ने इस संसार में मिथ्यात्व आदि का सेवन करके जिस प्रकार से कर्म बाँधे हैं, उसी प्रकार सम्यग्दर्शन आदि द्वारा उन कर्मों से मुक्त हो सकते हैं। इस प्रकार बन्ध और विमोक्ष का स्वरूप यथा-तथ्य रूप से जानने वाला विद्वान् मुनि अवश्य ही संसार का या कर्मों का अन्त करने वाला कहा गया है॥११॥ ___410. As the human beings earn the bondage of karmas through mithyatva (false perception or false belief) (etc.), so they can get liberated of that bondage of karmas through samyagdarshan (right perception or right belief) (etc.). It is said that an ascetic who knows the true form of bondage and liberation certainly ends this world (the cycle of rebirth) or the bondage of karmas. (11) ४११. इमम्मि लोए परए य दोसु वि, ण विज्जइ बंधणं जस्स किंचि वि।
से हू णिरालंबणमप्पइट्ठिए, कलंकलीभावपवंच विमुच्चति॥१३॥ -त्ति बेमि।
॥ सोलसं अज्झयणं सम्मत्तं ॥
॥ आयारंगसुत्तं : बीओ सुयक्खंधो सम्मत्तो ॥ ४११. इस लोक, परलोक तथा दोनों लोकों में जिसका किंचित् मात्र भी रागादि बन्धन नहीं है तथा जो साधक निरालम्ब-इहलौकिक-पारलौकिक स्पृहाओं से अप्रतिबद्ध है, वह
