समीचीन-धर्मशास्त्र Pandit Jugalkishoreji's present edition of the Ratnakarandaka is a crown of his long and sustained studies of Samantabhadra's works. Some thirty years back he wrote his learned dissertation on Samantabhadra as an Introduction to the edition of the Ratnakarandaka published in the Manikchandra D.Jain Granthamala. It is a model study which has become a source of inspiration and references to many scholars. He has retouched some of its parts here. And what is of special value and importance here is his Hindi Vyakhya. Not only it gives a precise and literal Hindi rendering of the text but it also presents critical discussions on Jainological topics taking into account similar contexts in the works of Samantabhadra and those of his predecessors and successors. This Hindi Vyakhya bears a worthy kinship with the work of which it is an exposition; and it really enriches not only Hindi language but also the field of didactic thought of the Jaina pattern. Pt. Jugalkishoreji's Vyakhya has further heightened the testamentary value of the Ratnakarandaka, and it deserves to be carefully studied both by critical scholars and pious devotees.
