को बुलाकर कहा - "हे देवानुप्रियो ! इन अंडों को उठाकर ले जाओ और अपनी मुर्गियों के अंडों के साथ रख दो।” दास पुत्रों ने वैसा ही किया ।
PICKING UP THE EGGS
14. The merchant-boys came together and consulted, "Beloved of gods! Seeing us approach, this wild pea-hen was stunned and flew away in panic. It is squeaking loudly and looking at us and the thicket in turn. There must be some reason for this." And they entered the thicket. They saw those two large and healthy eggs and consulted each other.

"Beloved of gods! Would it not be good if we take these eggs and put them with eggs of our good breed hen at home? Along with their own eggs our hens will protect and hatch these eggs also. At the proper time shall have two peacock chickens for entertainment." Both of them agreed to this and called their slave-boys and instructed, "Beloved of gods! Pick up these eggs, take them home and put them with the eggs of our hen." The slave boys carried out the order.
सूत्र १५. तए णं ते सत्थवाहदारगा देवदत्ताए गणियाए सद्धिं सुभूमिभागस्स उज्जाणस्स उज्जाणसिरिं पच्चणुभवमाणा विहरित्ता तमेव जाणं दुरूढा समाणा जेणेव चंपानयरी देणेव देवदत्ताए गणियाए गिहे तेणेव उवागच्छंति । उवागच्छित्ता देवदत्ताए हिं अणुपविसंति। अणुपविसित्ता देवदत्ताए गणियाए विउलं जीवियारिहं पीइदाणं दलयंति। दलइत्ता सक्कारेंति, सक्कारिता सम्मार्णेति सम्माणित्ता देवदत्ताए गिहाओ पडिणिक्खमंति, पडिणिक्खमित्ता जेणेव सयाइं सयाइं गिहाई तेणेव उवागच्छंति । उवागच्छित्ता सकम्मसंपउत्ता जाया यावि होत्था ।

सूत्र १५. सार्थवाहपुत्र तब गणिका देवदत्ता के साथ उद्यान की शोभा का आनन्द लेते हुए घूम-धामकर रथ में बैठ नगर में होते हुए गणिका के निवास पर आये । वहाँ आकर उन्होंने देवदत्ता को यथेष्ट प्रीतिदान देकर सत्कार-सम्मान किया और अपने-अपने घरों को लौट अपनी चर्या में जुट गये।

15. The merchant - boys and Devdatta continued their walk enjoying the beautiful garden and finally returned back to the courtesan's house riding the chariot and passing through the town. They amply rewarded Devdatta, honoured her and returned to their houses.
