आठवाँ अध्ययन : मल्ली
सूत्र १५०. फिर राजा कुम्भ ने सेवकों को बुलाकर कहा - " स्वर्णादि आठ पदार्थों के प्रत्येक के एक हजार आठ-आठ कलश लाओ। साथ में तीर्थंकर के अभिषेक की समस्त श्रेष्ठ और बहुमूल्य सामग्री भी लाओ।" सेवकों ने राजाज्ञानुसार कार्य सम्पन्न कर दिया |
ANNOINTING CEREMONY
150. King Kumbh called his staff and said, “Bring one thousand eight urns each of eight different materials including gold. With these, also bring all the best and expensive things needed for the annointing of a Tirthankar." The attendants carried out the King's order.
सूत्र १५१. तेणं कालेणं तेणं समएणं चमरे असुरिंदे जाव अच्चुयपज्जवसाणा
आगया।

तणं सक्के देविंदे देवराया आभिओगिए देवे सद्दावेइ, सद्दावित्ता एवं वयासी"खिप्पामेव अट्टसहस्सं सोवण्णियाणं कलसाणं जाव अण्णं च तं विउलं उवट्ठवेह | " जाव उवट्ठवेंति। तेवि कलसा ते चेव कलसे अणुपविट्ठा ।
सूत्र १५१. काल के उस भाग में चमर नामक असुरेन्द्र से लेकर अच्युत स्वर्ग के देवेन्द्र तक सभी चौंसठ इन्द्र वहाँ आ गये ।
शक्रेन्द्र ने तब अभियोगिक देवों को बुलाया और कहा - " शीघ्र ही मनुष्यों द्वारा एकत्र अभिषेक सामग्री के समान दैविक अभिषेक सामग्री ले आओ।" अभियोगिक देवगण सब सामग्री ले आये और वह कलशादि समस्त दिव्य सामग्री मानवीय सामग्री में सम्मिलित कर दी गई।
151. During that period of time all the sixty four Indras (kings of gods and demons) including the demon king Chamar and the king of the gods of the Achyut dimension arrived there. Shakrendra called the gods responsible for ceremonies and said, "At once bring all the things needed for the divine annointing, as the humans have collected." The ceremonial gods brought all the needed things and these divine things fused with the human things already present.
सूत्र १५२. तए णं से सक्के देविंदे देवराया कुंभराया य मल्लिं अरहं सीहासणंसि पुरत्याभिमुहं निवेसे, अट्ठसहस्सेणं सोवण्णियाणं जाव अभिसिंचाइ ।
सूत्र १५२. . इसके बाद शक्रेन्द्र और राजा कुंभ ने अर्हत् मल्ली को पूर्वाभिमुख सिंहासन पर बैठाया और उक्त सामग्री से उनका अभिषेक किया।
