आठवाँ अध्ययन : मल्ली
Yugantakrit Bhumi continued till the twentieth head of the order after her (this Bhumi is the period starting with the Nirvana of the Tirthankar and ends when the last of the Nirvana attaining heads of the order is liberated). Her Paryayantakrit Bhumi commenced after two years of her attaining omniscience (this Bhumi is the period starting with the moment of the Tirthankar attaining omniscience and ending when the first pure soul attains Nirvana).

सूत्र १७६. मल्ली णं अरहा पणुवीसं धणूणि उडुं उच्चत्तेणं, वण्णेणं पियंगुसमे, समचउरंस-संठाणे, वज्जरिसभनारायसंघयणे, मज्झदेसे सुहं सुहेणं विहरित्ता जेणेव संमेए पव्वए तेणेव उवागच्छइ, उवागच्छित्ता संमेयसेलसिहरे पाओवगमणमणुववन्ने।

सूत्र १७६. अर्हत् मल्ली पच्चीस धनुष ऊँचे थे। उनका रंग प्रियंगु के समान था । उनका संस्थान समचतुरम्न और संहनन वज्रऋषभ था। वे मध्य देश से सुखपूर्वक विचरते हुए सम्मेद शिखर आये और वहाँ पादोपगमन अनशन का संकल्प ले लिया ।
LIBERATION
176. Arhat Malli was twenty five Dhanush (a mythical measure of length) tall. Her complexion was greenish like black-mustard seed. Her figure and constitution were Samchaturas and Vajrarishabh respectively (mythical specifications of the human body). Moving around undisturbed in the central part of the country she arrived at Sammed Shikhar and took the ultimate vow.
सूत्र १७७. मल्ली णं एगं वाससयं आगारवासं पणपण्णं वाससहस्साई वाससयऊणाई केवलिपरियागं पाउणित्ता, पणपण्णं वाससहस्साइं सव्वाउयं पालइत्ता जे से गिम्हाणं पढमे मासे दोच्चे पक्खे चित्तसुद्धे, तस्स णं चेत्तसुद्धस्स चउत्थीए भरणीए णक्खत्तेणं अद्धरत्तकालसमयंसि पंचहिं अज्जियासएहिं अब्भिंतरियाए परिसाए पंचहिं अणगारसहि बाहिरियाए परिसाए, मासिएणं भत्तेणं अपाणएणं, वग्घारियपाणी, खीणे वेयणिज्जे आउए नामे गोए सिद्धे । एवं परिनिव्वाणमहिमा भाणियव्वा जहा जंबुद्दीवपण्णत्तीए, नंदीसरे अट्ठाहियाओ, पडिगयाओ ।

सूत्र १७७. अर्हत् मल्ली एक सौ वर्ष गृहवास में रहे। पचपन हजार वर्ष में सौ वर्ष कम समय तक वे केवलज्ञानी श्रमण के रूप में रहे। इस प्रकार कुल पचपन हजार वर्षों की आयु पूर्ण कर ग्रीष्म ऋतु के प्रथम मास और दूसरे पक्ष में चैत्र शुक्ला चतुर्थी के दिन
