अर्द्ध-रात्रि के समय भरणी नक्षत्र का योग होने पर पाँच सौ साधुओं और पाँच सौ साध्वियों के साथ एक माह के निर्जल अनशन के बाद दोनों हाथ लम्बे रखकर चारों अघाति कर्मों के क्षय होने पर सिद्ध हो गये। देवों ने आकर निर्वाण महोत्सव किया (जम्बूद्वीप प्रज्ञप्ति के अनुसार)। फिर वे सभी देव नन्दीश्वर द्वीप में अष्टाह्निका महोत्सव करते हुए अपने स्थानों को लौट गये। ___177. Arhat Malli lived as a house-holder for one hundred years. She lived as an omniscient ascetic for one hundred years less fifty thousand years. Thus completing her age of fifty five thousand years, during the first month and the second fortnight of the summer seaso on the fourth day of the bright half of the month of Chaitra, at
midnight when the moon entered the second (Bharani) lunar mansion, after a one month long fast, in a posture with hands raised high Arhat Malli, along with five hundred male and five hundred female disciples, ending all the four non destructible Karmas became a Siddha (a liberated soul). The gods arrived and performed the Nirvana celebrations (Jambu-dveep Prajnapti). They then proceeded to the Nandishvar island and celebrated the Ashtanhika celebration before returning to their abodes.
सूत्र १७८. एवं खलु जम्बू ! समणेणं भगवया महावीरेणं अट्ठमस्स नायज्झयणस्स अयमढे पन्नत्ते त्ति बेमि।
सूत्र १७८. हे जम्बू ! श्रमण भगवान महावीर ने आठवें ज्ञाता अध्ययन का यही अर्थ कहा है। मैंने यही सुना है, ऐसा मैं कहता हूँ। ___ 178. Jambu! This is the text and meaning of the eighth chapter of the Jnata sutra according to Shraman Bhagavan Mahavir. This is what I have listened and so I confirm
