सूत्र ३८. तए णं सा पउमावई नियगपरिवालसंपरिवुडा सागेयं नगरं मझमज्झेणं णिज्जइ, णिज्जित्ता जेणेव पुक्खरिणी तेणेव उवागच्छइ। उवागच्छित्ता पुक्खरिणिं जोगाहेइ। ओगाहित्ता जलमज्जणं जाव परम-सुइभूया उल्लपडसाडया जाई तत्थ उप्पलाई जावं गेण्हइ। गेण्हित्ता जेणेव नागघरए तेणेव पहारेत्थ गमणाए। __सूत्र ३८. अपने स्वजनों को साथ ले साकेत नगर के बीच होती हुई पद्मावती पुष्करिणी-बावडी नदी के तट पर आईं। वहाँ बावडी में उतर स्नानादि कर स्वच्छ हो, कमल आदि फूल लेकर नाग-मंदिर जाने को रवाना हुईं। __ 38. सूत्र ३९. तए णं पउमावई दासचेडीओ बहूओ पुप्फपडलगहत्थगयाओ धूवकडुच्छुगहत्थगयाओ पिट्ठओ समणुगच्छति।
तए णं पउमावई सव्विड्डीए जेणव णागघरे तेणेव उवागच्छइ, उवागच्छित्ता नागघरयं अणुपविसइ, अणुपविसित्ता लोमहत्थगं जाव धूवं डहइ, डहित्ता पडिबुद्धिं रायं पडिवालेमाणी पडिवालेमाणी चिट्ठइ। __सूत्र ३९. पद्मावती देवी की अनेक दासियाँ हाथों में फूलों की टोकरियाँ और धूपदानियाँ लेकर उनके पीछे-पीछे चलने लगीं। वे अपने सारे साज-सामान के साथ नाग-मन्दिर पहुंचीं। मन्दिर के गर्भगृह में जा पीछी से प्रतिमा को साफ किया और धूप खेई। फिर वे राजा प्रतिबुद्धि की प्रतीक्षा करने लगीं।
39. Numerous maid servants carrying baskets filled with flowers and pots filled with incense walked behind Queen Padmavati. She reached the temple with all the accompanying grandeur. She entered the sanctum sectorum of the temple and cleaned the idol with pea-cock feather brush. She performed the ritual of burning incense.
