साकेयं नगरं मज्झं-मज्झेणं णिग्गच्छइ, णिग्गच्छित्ता जेणेव णागघरे तेणेव उवागच्छइ, उवागच्छित्ता हत्थिखंधाओ पच्चोरुहइ, पच्चोरुहित्ता आलो पणामं करेइ, करिता पुप्फमंडवं अणुपविसइ, अणुपविसित्ता पासइ तं एगं महं सिरिदामगंडं ।
सूत्र ४०. राजा प्रतिबुद्धि स्नानादि से निवृत्त हो उत्तम हाथी पर सवार हुआ । छत्र-चामर से सुशोभित हो आगे चतुरंगिनी सेना, सुभट आदि समस्त वैभव ले वह नगर के बीच से होता हुआ नाग मंदिर पहुँचा। हाथी से उतरते ही प्रतिमा पर दृष्टि गई तो उसने प्रणाम किया और पुष्प-मण्डप में प्रवेश किया। वहाँ उसने एक विशाल गजरा देखा ।

THE FLORAL PAVILION
40. After getting ready King Pratibuddhi rode his best elephant. Accompanied by attendants carrying the royal umbrella and whisks, the brigade of guards, and all his grandeur, King Pratibuddhi passed through the city and arrived at the temple. When he got down from the elephant he chanced to look at the idol and bowed before it. He entered the floral pavilion and at once saw a large intwined garland of flowers.
सूत्र ४१. तए णं पडिबुद्धी तं सिरिदामगंडं सुदूरं कालं निरिक्खइ, निरिक्खित्ता तंसि सिरिदामगंडंसि जायविम्हए सुबुद्धिं अमच्चं एवं वयासी
"तुमं णं देवाणुप्पिया ! मम दोच्चेणं बहूणि गामागर. जाव संनिवेसाइं आहिंडसि, बहूणि राईसर जाव गिहाई अणुपविससि, तं अस्थि णं तुमे कहिंचि एरिसए सिरिदामगंडे दिट्ठपुव्वे, जारिसए णं इमे पउमावईए देवीए सिरिदामगंडे ? "
सुत्र ४१. उस सुन्दर गजरे को देख राजा प्रतिबुद्धि चकित रह गया और अमात्य सुबुद्धि से पूछा - "हे देवानुप्रिय ! तुम मेरे दूत के रूप में अनेक ग्राम - नगरादि स्थानों पर और राजाओं-जागीरदारों आदि व्यक्तियों के घरों में आते-जाते रहे हो । क्या तुमने पद्मावती देवी के इस गजरे जैसा सुन्दर गजरा पहले भी कहीं देखा है ?"
41. The king was dumbstruck looking at the enchanting beauty of the garland. He asked minister Subuddhi, "Beloved of gods! As my emissary you frequent numerous cities, villages and other such places and visit the houses of kings, landlords, and other such people. Tell me, have you ever seen an entwined garland as beautiful as this one belonging to Queen Padmavati?"
