दही,
सूत्र ४९. बन्दरगाह पर पहुंचकर गाड़ी - गाड़े खड़े कर उन्होंने जहाज तैयार किये और फिर वह सारी सामग्री जहाज में भर दी। साथ ही उसमें चावल, आटा, तेल, घी, पानी, पानी के बरतन, औषधियाँ, भेषज, घास, लकड़ी, वस्त्र, शस्त्र तथा अन्य सभी आवश्यक वस्तुएँ भी जहाज में भर लीं। अच्छा मुहूर्त देख स्वजनों को पुनः भोज दिया और उनसे विदा ली और तट पर जहाजों के पास आये।
THE SEA-VOYAGE
49. At the port they parked their carts and made their ships seaworthy. They filled the holds of the ships with their merchandise. Also loaded were other essential things including rice, flour, oil, Ghee, curd, potable water, water tanks and other utensils, drugs and medicines, hay, wood, dresses, and weapons. At an auspicious moment they again invited their friends and bidding them good-bye they arrived at the pier near the ships.
सूत्र ५०. तए णं तेसिं अरहन्नगपामोक्खाणं जाव वाणियगाणं परियणा जाव ताहिं वहिं अभिनंदता य अभिसंथुणमाणा य एवं वयासी - " अज्ज ! ताय ! भाय ! माउल ! भाइणेज्ज ! भगवया समुद्देणं अभिरक्खिज्जमाणा अभिरक्खिज्जमाणा चिरं जीवह, भदं च भे, पुणरवि लट्ठे कयकज्जे अणहसमग्गे नियगं घरं हव्वमागए पासामो" त्ति कट्टु ताहिं सोमाहि निद्धाहिं दीहाहिं सप्पिवासाहिं पप्पुयाहिं दिट्ठीहिं निरिक्खमाणा मुहुत्तमेत्तं संचिट्ठति ।

सूत्र ५०. अर्हन्नक आदि वणिकों के स्वजनों ने मधुर वाणी में उनकी प्रशंसा और अभिनन्दन करते हुए कहा - " हे आर्य ! हे तात ! हे भाई ! हे मामा ! आप इन वरुण देव के संरक्षण में चिरंजीवी हों। आपका मंगल हो । हम शीघ्र ही आपको निर्विघ्न यात्रा से धन-लाभ और कार्य संपन्न कर लौटा हुआ यथावत् देखें । " और वे लोग इन यात्रियों को मधुर, स्नेहमय, अपलक, प्यासी और भीगी आँखों से देखते हुए कुछ देर वहीं खड़े रहे।

50. The friends and relatives of Arhannak and other merchants offered the voyagers greetings and praises in sweet voice, "Gentlemen! (or father, brother, uncle, etc.) May you live long under the protection of Varun, the god of water. May all go well with you. May we see you back soon successful and prosperous after a trouble free voyage." They stood there for some time looking at the voyagers with loving, fond, unblinking, expectant, and tearful eyes.
