124. Princess Malli provided a solution, "Father ! Please don't be sad and dejected. You send messengers secretly and convey the same message to each one of the kings that you will marry me to him. With this message you should also invite each one of them to enter the city in the evening when the streets are deserted. Lead them to the six separate rooms surrounding the hall of illusion to stay for the night and make arrangements for their comfortable stay. Once this is done, again close the city gates and be prepared to defend the city.”
King Kumbh acted upon this plan suggested by Princess Malli.
सूत्र १२५. तए णं जियसत्तुपामोक्खा छप्पि य रायाणो कल्लं पाउप्पभायाए जाव जालंतरेहिं कणगमयं मत्थयछिड्डं पउमुप्पलपिहाणं पडिमं पासंति। "एस णं मल्ली विदेहरायवरकन्न' त्ति कटु मल्लीए विदेहरायवरकन्नाए रूवे य जोव्वणे य लावण्णे य मुच्छिया गिद्धा जाव अज्झोववन्ना अणिमिसाए दिट्ठीए पेहमाणा चिट्ठति।
सूत्र १२५. दूसरे दिन सुबह वे सब राजा अपने-अपने कमरे की जालियों से मोहनगृह के मध्य रखी मस्तक का छेद और कमल के ढक्कन वाली सोने की बनी मल्लीकुमारी की प्रतिमा को निहारने लगे। यही विदेहराज की श्रेष्ठ कन्या मल्लीकुमारी है-ऐसा समझकर वे उसके रूप, यौवन और लावण्य पर मोहित व आसक्त हो ललचाई दृष्टि से उसे अपलक देखते रहे।
125. Next morning when the kings got up they peeped through the grill of their rooms and saw the life-like golden statue of Princess Malli installed at the centre of the hall of illusion. They assumed that this was King Kumbh's daughter, Princess Malli. सूत्र १२६. तए णं सा मल्ली विदेहरायवरकन्ना पहाया जाव पायच्छित्ता सव्यालंकारविभूसिया बहूहिं खुज्जाहिं जाव परिक्खित्ता जेणेव जालघरए, जेणेव कणगपडिमा तेणेव उवागच्छइ। उवागच्छित्ता तीसे कणगपडिमाए मत्थयाओ तं पउमं अवणेइ। तए णं गंधे णिद्धावइ से जहानामए अहिमडे इ वा जाव असुभतराए चेव।
सूत्र १२६. उधर मल्लीकुमारी स्नानादि नित्य कार्यों से निवृत्त हो समस्त वस्त्रालंकार धारण किये और अनेक दासियों सहित मोहनगृह में आई। वहाँ आकर वह प्रतिमा के पास
