Subuddhi replied, "Sire! the princess of Videh is a famous and divinely beautiful lady. (Her feet are smoothly curved like a tortoise..... etc. as mentioned in Jambudveep Prajnapti. )"

सूत्र ४४. तए णं पडिबुद्धी राया सुबुद्धिस्स अमच्चस्स अंतिए एयम सोच्चा णिसम्म सिरिदामगंडजणियहासे दूयं सद्दावेइ, सद्दावित्ता एवं वयासी - " गच्छाहि णं तुमं देवाणुप्पिया ! मिहिलं रायहाणिं, तत्थ णं कुम्भगस्स रण्णो धूयं पउमावईए देवीए अत्तयं मल्लिं विदेहवररायकण्णगं मम भारियत्ताए वरेहि, जइ वि णं सा सयं रज्जसुंका।
सूत्र ४४. अमात्य की यह बात सुन-समझकर राजा प्रतिबुद्धि के मन में मल्लीकुमारी और उसके गजरे के अपूर्व सौन्दर्य के प्रति अनुराग की भावना उठी। उन्होंने अपने दूत को वुलाकर कहा - " देवानुप्रिय ! तुम मिथिला राजधानी जाओ और राजा कुम्भ तथा रानी प्रभावती की कन्या मल्लीकुमारी का हाथ मेरे लिए माँगी। इसके लिये चाहे अपना सारा राज्य ही क्यों न प्रतिदान में देना पड़े।"
44. This description by the minister evoked a feeling of fondness to the extant of infatuation for Princess Malli and her garland in the mind of King Pratibuddhi. He called one of his emissaries and said, "Beloved of gods! Proceed to Mithila city and ask for the hand of Princess Malli for me from her parents, King Kumbh and Queen Prabhavati. It does not matter if I have to give away my whole kingdom as dowry."
सूत्र ४५. तए णं से दूए पडिबुद्धिणा रण्णा एवं वुत्ते समाणे हट्ठतुट्ठे पडिसुणेइ, पडिसुणेत्ता जेणेव सए गिहे, जेणेव चाउग्घंटे आसरहे तेणेव उवागच्छ, उवागच्छत्ता चाउरघंटं आसरहं पडिकप्पावेइ, पडिकप्पावित्ता दुरूढे जाव हय-गय-महयाभडचडगरेणं माएयाओ निग्गच्छ, निग्गच्छित्ता जेणेव विदेहजणवए जेणेव मिहिला रायहाणी तेणेव पहारेत्थ गमणाए ।
सूत्र ४५. दूत ने राजा की आज्ञा सहर्ष स्वीकार की और अपने घर लौटा। वहाँ उसने अपने चार घंटों वाले रथ में घोड़े जोतकर उसे यात्रा के लिए तैयार किया। उस रथ पर सवार हो बहुत से घोड़े, हाथी और पैदल सैनिकों को साथ ले उसने साकेत नगर से निकल विदेह जनपद की राह पर मिथिला के लिये प्रस्थान किया ।

45. The emissary felt honoured and returned home. He prepared a chariot drawn by four horses for his journey. Taking along a large contingent of horses, elephants, and soldiers he left Saket and commenced his journey to Mithila city in Videh country.
