अंत में एक माह की संलेखना करके साठ भक्त अनशन कर केवलज्ञान और केवलदर्शन प्राप्त कर वे सिद्ध हुए। __47. Now Thavacchaputra left Saugandhika town and resumed his itinerant life. At last he and one thousand of his disciples arrived at the foot of the Shatrunjaya hills. They slowly climbed to the summit. There they searched a large rock black as clouds. After properly cleaning this rock they sat on it and took the ultimate vow of meditation and fast till death following the prescribed procedure. After a month long fast they attained Keval Jnana and Keval Darshan and got liberated terminating a long ascetic life.

राजा शैलक का वैराग्य
सूत्र ४८. तए णं सुए अन्नया कयाइं जेणेव सेलगपुरे नयरे, जेणेव सुभूमिभागे उज्जाणे तेणेव समोसरिए। परिसा निग्गया, सेलओ निग्गच्छइ। धम्म सोच्चा जं णवरं“देवाणुप्पिया ! पंथगपामोक्खाइं पंच मंतिसयाइं आपुच्छामि, मंडुयं च कुमारं रज्जे ठावेमि, तओ पच्छा देवाणुप्पियाणं अंतिए मुंडे भवित्ता अगाराओ अणगारिय पव्वयामि।"
"अहासुहं देवाणुप्पिया !"
सूत्र ४८. शुक अनगार एक बार शैलकपुर नगर के सुभूमिभाग उद्यान में पधारे। वहां परिषद निकली और राज शैलक भी आये। धर्मोपदेश सुनकर उन्होंने कहा-"हे देवानुप्रिय ! मैं पंथक आदि पाँच सौ मंत्रियों से पूछ लूँ, और मंडुक कुमार को राज्य दे दूं फिर गृह त्यागकर आपके पास दीक्षा लूँगा।"
शुक अनगार ने कहा-“जिसमें तुम्हें सुख मिले वही करो।"
KING SHAILAK GETS DETACHED
48. Ascetic Shuk once arrived at the Subhumibhag garden in Shailakpur. King Shailak and a delegation of the townsfolk came for his discourse. After the discourse the king said, “Beloved of gods! I would like to renounce the world and take Diksha from you, but first I shall go and seek opinion of my ministers including Panthak. I would also like to handover the kingdom to prince Manduk Kumar."
Ascetic Shuk replied, “Do as you please."
