उज्झिया ने दाने लेकर सोचा-मेरे धान्य भण्डार में तो सैकड़ों मन धान पड़ा है, इन्हें सँभाल कर क्या करना है। ससुर जी जब भी माँगेंगे निकालकर लाकर सौंप दूंगी। यह सोच वह दाने घर के बाहर फेंक देती है।
दूसरी ने-इसे ससुर के हाथ का प्रसाद समझकर दाने छील कर खा लिए।
तीसरी रक्षिता ने सोचा-मेरे पूज्य ससुर जी ने मित्र ज्ञातिजनों के समक्ष मुझे ये दाने सौंपे हैं तो इनकी रक्षा करनी चाहिए। उसने स्वच्छ वस्त्र में लपेटकर गहनों की मंजूषा में सुरक्षित रख दिया। चौथी रोहिणी के मन में उनकी वृद्धि करने की योजना बनी। उसने अपने सेवक को बुलाकर कहा-ये पाँच शालिकण मेरे पीहर ले जाकर भाईयों को दो, और कहो, इनकी अलग खेती करें और उनकी फसल को निरन्तर बढ़ाते रहे।

Ujjhika took the grains and went inside. Thinking that as there are heaps of rice lying in the family godown, whenever father asks I will collect five grains and give him back, she threw away those five grains. Bhogvati considering it to be a gift from the father-in-law peeled and swallowed the grains. Rakshika thought that there must be some secret purpose for such instructions. Accordingly she wrapped the grains and put the packet inside her jewelry box. The fourth one, Rohini, called her maternal people and asked them to sow the grains in a separate plot. As long as she did not ask for they were to sow the yield again and again and multiply the produce.
