सूत्र २६. काल के उस भाग में अधोलोक में रहने वाली प्रधान आठ दिशा कुमारिकाएँ आईं और फिर देवता आये। सबने मिलकर परम्परागत रीति से तीर्थंकर का जन्माभिषेक किया और तब नन्दीश्वर द्वीप में जाकर महोत्सव किया। (विस्तृत वर्ण जम्बूद्वीप प्रज्ञप्ति के अनुसार) BIRTH AND NAMING CEREMONIES ____26. During that period of time the eight goddesses of direction came from the lower worlds followed by other gods. They together performed the traditional post-birth annointing ritual. Then they proceeded to the Nandishvar island and celebrated the birth festival of the Tirthankar (details available in Jambudveep Prajnapti).
सूत्र २७. तया णं कुंभए राया बहूहिँ भवणवइ-वाणविंतर-जोइसिय-वेमाणिएहिं देवेहिं तित्थयरजम्मणाभिसेयं जायकम्मं जाव नामकरणं, जम्हा णं अम्हे इमीए दारियाए माउगभंसि वक्कममाणंसि मल्लसयणिज्जंसि डोहले विणीए, तं होउ णं णामेणं मल्ली, नामं ठवेइ, जहा महाबले नाम जाव परिवडिया।
सा वड्डई भगवई, दियालोयचुया अणोपमसिरीया। दासीदासपरिवुडा, परिकिन्ना पीढमद्देहिं ॥१॥ असियसिरया सुनयणा, बिंबोट्ठी धवलदंतपंतीया।
वरकमलगभगोरी फुल्लुप्पलगंधनीसासा॥२॥ सूत्र २७. फिर राजा कुम्भ ने भवन पति आदि चारों जाति के अनेक देवों के सान्निध्य में तीर्थंकर का जातकर्म व अन्य संस्कार सम्पन्न कर नामकरण घोषित किया-"जब हमारी यह पुत्री माता के गर्भ में थी तब माता को माला (फूल) की शय्या पर सोने का दोहद हुआ था अतः इसका नाम मल्ली हो।" यह सब वर्णन भगवतीसूत्र में वर्णित महाबल के नामकरण के समान है।
27. King Kumbh performed the traditional post birth ceremonies in presence of gods from all the four classes including Bhavanpati. The last was the naming ceremony when the king announced, "When this daughter of ours was still in the womb her mother had a Dohad of sleeping on a bed filled with flowers and garlands. So let her be known as Malli (flower garland).” The detailed description of these celebrations is same as that mentioned in Bhagavati Sutra with reference to Mahabal.
