Bombay, 14th Aug. 1942. MY DEAR SINGHIJI,
Shri Muniji told me about the conversation that you had with him as regards the Singhi Jain Series as also your intended donation to the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. I am deeply obliged to you for the kindly interest that you have taken in this matter.
For the last three years and a half, thanks to friends, like you, we have been able to build up a good Indological Institution and a fine building which unfortunately for the moment is with the Military.
Muniji also told me that you are willing to give by way of donation to the Bhavan--the copyright in all the works published so far; that you are also willing to pay the expenses incidental to the preparation and publication of further works in this series which are being published under the editorship of Muniji. I understand that you were good enough to consider the question of donating Rs. 10,000/- to the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan for a hall in the Bhavan to be named after you.
In view of your generous intentions I think I would get the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan to do the following: -
If you give us the copyright of the works of the Singhi Jain Series and the Donation the Bhavan can: (a) Name the Jain Shastra Shiksha Pith which the
Bhavan is conducting a Shree Singhi Jain Gnyan Pith;
