5th January, 1943. MY DEAR MUNSHIJI,
Adverting to my letter to you dated 24-9-42 to which I have not yet the pleasure of a reply, I wish to add the following terms and provisions in the matter of my donating to the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan—the copyright of the books in the Singhi Jain Series, hitherto and to be published hereafter. 13 In case the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in future
for any reason whatsoever indefinately stops or becomes unable to continue publication of books in Singhi Jain Series or in the event of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan ceasing to exist, which God may forbid, the copyright of all the books of the Singhi Jain Series published up to that time shall revert back to me or to my heirs and successors and all the books of the said series in stock or in possession of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan including in the press, if any, shall be made over to me or my heirs
and successors. With reference to your suggestion for changing the name of the Jain Shastra Shiksha Pith to Shree Singhi Jain Gnyan Pith, vide clause(a) of your letter dated 14-8-42. I have no objection to the same, provided I shall not have to bear or contribute any expenses for the post and nothing out of the sale proceeds of the books of the Singhi Jain Series is spent towards the upkeep of the post. I am however willing to pay the remuneration of Professor Gopani or any other incumbent of the post, if and so long as he will be engaged by Muni Shree Jina Vijayaji as his assistant in the publication work,
I hope that all the points are now clear and the matter may be placed before the Committee to have their formal sanction.
