विद्यार्थी जैन धर्म शिक्षा। पश्चिमीय विद्वान प्रॉफसर विलियम मैकडागल साहब अपनी पुस्तकमें लिखते है " हमको अवश्य मानना पडता है कि अंत करणके कार्य किमी एक पदार्थके कुछ कार्य है। वह पढार्थ मग्जका कोई भाग नहीं है न वह कोई जड़ पदार्थ है कितु वह सब तरह के जड पदाथोंसे जुदा है । हम उसे एक अमृतिक पदार्थ या जीव मानमक्त है।
इसलिये जडसे भिन्न कोई जाननेवाला पदार्थ आन्मा है एसा आपको मानना पडेगा। यह भी आपको समझना चाहिये कि यह आत्मा एक अखंड पदार्थ हमारे शरीर मे व्यापक है. फैला हुआ है। क्योंकि हमे दुख या सुखकी चंदना सर्वांग होती है। यदि पगमे चोट लगे तब सर्व गरीरभरमे द ख मालम पड़ता है। जब हमे किसी मित्रको देखकर खुशी होती है तब सुखका भान सर्वत्र होता है। जबकि शरीरमें जहा विगाड़ होता है वहीं होता है। यदि पगमें फोडा हुआ है तब वह पगमे ही विगाड है. मस्तकमे नहीं है परन्तु दुःखकी वेदना हमे सब तरफ होती है। इससे यह
