(त्रिलोक - राजेन्द्र-किरीट-कोटि प्रभाभिः - आलीढ- पदारविन्दम् ) तीनों लोकों के अधिपति, राजा, महाराजा और इन्द्रों के करोड़ों मुकुटों की प्रभा से जिनके चरण-कमल सुशोभित हो रहे हैं, (निर्मूलम् उन्मूलित कर्मवृक्षम् ) जिन्होंने कर्म रूपी वृक्ष को जड़ से उखाड़ दिया है या निर्मूल कर उखाड़ दिया है; ऐसे ( जिनेन्द्रचन्द्र ) चन्द्रमा के समान शीतलता / शान्ति देने वाले जिनेन्द्र देव को अथवा चन्द्रप्रभु जिनेन्द्र को (भक्त्या प्रणमामि ) मैं भक्ति से प्रणाम करता हूँ ।
I hereby with all humility pay obeisance to "Lord Chandraprabhu" - whose lotus feet are getting glamerous due to the luster of the billion crowns of the kings, emperors, wheel wielding emperors and lords of celestial beings existing in all three universes. Who has eradicated the tree of karmas and who provides coolness to all living beings like moon.
करचरणतनु विधाता, दटतोनिहितः प्रमादतः प्राणी । ईर्यापथमिति भीत्या, मुञ्चे तद्दोषहान्यर्थम् । ॥18 ॥
(प्रमादतः अटतः) प्रमाद से गमन करते हुए मेरे (कर-चरण-तनु-विघातात्) हाथ-पैर अथवा शरीर के आघात से (प्राणी निहतः) प्राणी का घात हुआ है, (इति) इस प्रकार (भीत्या) भय से (तद्दोषहान्यर्थम्) उस प्राणी घात से उत्पन्न दोषों की हानि के लिए ( ईर्यापथ) ईर्यापथ को अर्थात् गमन को (मुञ्चे ) छोड़ता हूँ ।
Whereever and whenever, due to my negligence and carelessness - any living being might have been killed and injured by the movements of my hands, feets and other parts of body, I feel guilty therefore. I therefore abandon, give up my walking on the path/way and expiate/repent for the faults commited by me, as I am much afraid of the consequences thereof.
ईर्यापथे प्रचलताऽद्य मया प्रमादा-देकेन्द्रिय प्रमुख जीव निकायबाधा । निर्वर्तिता यदि भवेदयुगान्तरेक्षा, मिथ्या- तदस्तु दुरितं गुरु भक्तितो मे ।।19।।
(यदि) यदि (अद्य) आज (ईर्यापथे) मार्ग में (प्रचलता) चलते हुए, (मया) मेरे द्वारा (प्रमादतः) प्रमाद से (एकेन्द्रिय प्रमुख) एकेन्द्रिय आदि ( जीव निकायबाधा ) जीवों के समूह को पीड़ा (निर्वतिता भवेत् ) की गई हो, (अयुगान्तरेक्षा) चार हाथ भूमि के अन्तराल को न देखा हो-चार हाथ भूमि देखकर गमन नहीं किया
