shelter of your feet, which are peace-incarnate. O God! please oblige me as well by your favoured-look. Through these eight verses, I hereby, most faithfully and devotionally pray to you therefore.
शान्ति जिनं शशि निर्मल वक्त्रं, शीलगुण व्रत संयम पात्रम् । अष्टशतार्चित लक्षण गात्रं, नौमि जिनोत्तम - मम्बुज नेत्रम् ।।9।। (शशिनिर्मलवक्त्रं) चन्द्रमा के समान निर्मल मुख के धारक ( शीलगुण - व्रत-संयम- पात्रम्) जो 18000 शील के स्वामी, गुणों के, व्रतों के व संयम पालक होने से पात्र हैं, (अष्ट- शत - अर्चित - लक्षण - गात्र) जिनका शरीर 1008 लक्षणों से शोभा को प्राप्त है, (जिनोत्तम) जिनों में श्रेष्ठ होने से जो तीर्थंकर हैं अथवा तीर्थंकर, चक्रवर्ती व कामदेव त्रिपदधारी होने से जो जिनोत्तम हैं, (अम्बुज नेत्रम्) कमलसम सुन्दर, विशाल विकसित नेत्र से जो शोभित हो रहे हैं; ऐसे (शान्तिजिन) शान्तिनाथ भगवान को (नौमि ) मैं नमस्कार करता हूँ ।
I pay my obeisance to Bhagwan Shāṇtināth, whose face is as glamorous as moon, who upholds eighteen thousand supplementary vows, eighty four lacs attributes, vows, restraints, and is therefor object of worship. Whose body is characterised by one thousand eight fine characteristics, who is the Tirthankara and excellent among Jinas an whose eyes are lotus like, large and develop.
पञ्चम-मीप्सित - चक्रधराणां, पूजित - मिन्द्र- नरेन्द्र - गणैश्च । शान्तिकरं गण- शान्ति-मभीप्सुः, षोडश - तीर्थंकरं प्रणमामि ।।10।।
(पञ्चम् - ईप्सित-चक्रधराणां) जो अभिलषित बारह चक्रवर्तियों में पंचम चक्रवर्ती थे, (इन्द्र-नरेन्द्र - गणैः च) जो इन्द्र और नरेन्द्रों के समूहों से (पूजितम् ) पूजित हैं, (शान्तिकरं ) जो शान्ति को करने वाले हैं; ( गणशान्तिं अभीप्सुः) महाशान्ति का इच्छुक ( षोडश तीर्थंकरं -प्रणमामि ) मैं उन शान्तिनाथ भगवान को नमस्कार करता हूँ ।
I, an aspirent of peace pay abeisance to Bhagwan (lord) Shantinath, who was the fifth wheel wielding emperor of all the twelve wheel wielding emperors; who is worshipped by the groups of lord of gods, (Indras) and lords of human beings and who is the giver of peace.
