________________ आदि के आश्रय होने वाली (पञ्च-समितयः) पांच समितियां (अपि) और (पञ्चव्रतानि) अहिंसा आदि पांच महाव्रत (इति); इस प्रकार (त्रयोदशतयं चारित्र उपहित) तेरह प्रकार के चरित्र सहित (आचार) आचार को (वय) हम (नमामः) नमस्कार करते हैं; जो (परमेष्ठिनः) परम पद में स्थित (वीरं जिनपतेः) महावीर तीर्थंकर से (परैः पूर्व) पूर्व अन्य तीर्थंकरों के द्वारा (न दृष्टम्) नहीं देखा गया अथवा नहीं कहा गया। I here by humbly and respectfuly pay obeisance to thirteen point conduct inclusive of three disciplines (Gupti) of mind, speech and body, five carefulnesses (Samiti)e.g. carefulness of walking etc. and five full vows (Mahāvrita) i.e. nonviolence, truth, non-stealing, chestity and possessionlessness. It (thirteen point conduct) was at first seen and preached by supreme being Tirthaņkara shri Mahāvira not by other thirthankaras. Explanation : The thirteen point conduct mentioned in this sloka was prescribed for saints by the last Tirthankar shri Mahāvira. Because till then the human beings had become comparatively more and more crooked - persons with curved sentiments (Vakra Parināmi). Such conduct had become necessary rather indispensible in order to get rid of the vicious circle of birth, oldage and death. Acharyapravar shri Poojyapāda here by pointedly indicates the lowely character of human beings at the time of lord Mahāvira. पंचाचार पालने वालों की वंदना (Adorationof persons practising five kinds of conduct (Panchachara) आचारं सह-पत्रचभेदमुदितं, तीर्थ परं मंगलम्, निर्ग्रन्थानपि सच्चरित्रमहतो, वंदे समग्रान्यतीन्। . आत्माधीन सुखोदया-मनुपमा, लक्ष्मीमविध्वंसिनीम्, इच्छन्केवलदर्शनावगमन, प्राज्य प्रकाशोज्वलाम्।।8।। (आत्माधीन सुख उदया) आत्माश्रित सुख के उदय से सहित, (अनुपमा) उपमारहित, (केवलदर्शन-अवगमन-प्राज्य-प्रकाश-उज्वला) केवलदर्शन और 74 • Gems of Jaina Wisdom-IX
