तेयलिपुत्तं अमच्चं आढाहि, परिजाणाहि, सक्कारेहि, सम्माणेहि, इंतं अब्भुट्ठेहि ठियं पज्जुवासाहि वच्चंतं पडिसंसाहेहि, अद्धासणेणं उवनिमंतेहि, भोगं च से अणुवड्ढे हि ।
सूत्र ३५ : वहाँ उपस्थित राजकुमार आदि प्रतिष्ठित जनों ने कुमार कनकध्वज का अपार वैभवयुक्त राज्याभिषेक किया, कनकध्वज राजा बन गया ( राजा का वर्णन औपपातिकसूत्र के अनुसार है) और राज्य का संचालन करता जीवन व्यतीत करने लगा।
इस अवसर पर पद्मावती देवी ने राजा कनकध्वज को बुलाकर कहा - " पुत्र ! ( यद्यपि तुम्हारे पिता कनकरथ राजा थे ) किन्तु तुम्हें यह राज्य व अंतःपुर तेतलिपुत्र की कृपा से प्राप्त हुए है । अतः तुम अमात्य तेतलिपुत्र को अपना हितैषी जान उनका आदर करना, सत्कार करना और सम्मान करना। उनके आने पर खड़े होकर आवभगत और उपासना करना। वे जाने लगें तो उनके साथ जाकर विदा करना। वे बोलें तो उनके कथन की सराहना करना। उन्हें अपने साथ आसन प्रदान करना और उनकी सम्पन्नता में वृद्धि करना।
35. All those present there arranged for a grand coronation ceremony and Kanak-dhvaj became the king. ( details as per Aupapatik Sutra ). He commenced his life dispensing all his duties as a ruler. On this occasion Queen Padmavati called the new king and said, "Son! You have got this palace and the kingdom by the grace of Tetaliputra. As such, you should pay all due regards, respect and honour to him considering him to be your well wisher. When he comes, you should stand and greet him with due respect. When he leaves, you should accompany him to the gate. When he speaks, you should commend his statement. In protocol you should offer him a seat besides your own and above all, you should enhance his financial status.

सूत्र ३६ : कनकध्वज ने पद्मावती देवी की आज्ञा को शिरोधार्य किया और अमात्य तेतलिपुत्र को सभी सुविधाएँ व अधिकार प्रदान कर दिये ।
36. Kanak-dhvaj accepted the instructions of Queen Padmavati with due regards and extended all the facilities and powers as told.
सूत्र ३७ : तए णं से पोट्टिले देवे तेयलिपुत्तं अभिक्खणं-२ केवलिपन्नत्ते धम्मे संबोहेइ, नो चेव णं से तेयलिपुत्ते संबुज्झइ । तए णं तस्स पोट्टिलदेवस्स इमेयारूवे अज्झथिए जाव समुपज्जित्था - " एवं खलु कणगज्झए राया तेयलिपुत्तं आढाइ, जाव भोगं च संवड्ढेइ तए णं से तेयलिपुत्ते अभिक्खणं अभिक्खणं संबोहिज्जमाणे वि धम्मे नो संबुज्झइ, तं सेयं खलु कणगज्झयं तेयलिपुत्ताओ विप्परिणामित्तए' त्ति कट्टु एवं संपेहेइ, संपेहित्ता कणगज्झयं तेयलिपुत्ताओ विपरिणामेइ ।
