होते । देवाप्रिये ! पाँचों पाण्डव दक्षिण दिशा में समुद्र तट पर जायें और वहाँ पाण्डु-मथुरा नाम की ) नयी नगरी बसावें और मेरे अदृष्ट सेवक (मेरी आँखों से दूर) होकर रहें।" इस प्रकार समाधान कर कृष्ण ने कुंती को सम्मान पूर्वक विदा किया।
207. Krishna replied, “ Aunt ! The words uttered by great men like Vasudev, Baldev, and Chakravarti never become false nor are taken back. Beloved of gods! Let the five Pandavs go to the southern sea coast and found a new town named Pandu-Mathura. They should spend their lives as my subjects beyond the reach of my eyes." After providing this solution Krishna bid farewell to Kunti with due regards.
सूत्र २०८ : तए णं सा कोंती देवी जाव पंडुस्स एयमहं णिवेदेइ । तए णं पंडू या पंच पंडवे सद्दावेइ, सद्दावित्ता एवं वयासी - 'गच्छह णं तुब्भे पुत्ता ! दाहिणिल्लं वेयालिं, तत्थ णं तुभे पंडुमहुरं णिवेसेह | '
तए णं पंच पंडवा पंडुस्स रण्णो जाव तह त्ति पडिसुर्णेति, पडिसुणित्ता सबल-वाहणा हय गय हत्थिणाउराओ पडिणिक्खमंति, पडिणिक्खमित्ता जेणेव दक्खिणिल्ले वेयाली तेणेव उवागच्छंति, उवागच्छित्ता पंडुमहुरं नगरिं निवेसंति, निवेसित्ता तत्थ णं ते विपुलभोगसमितिसमण्णागया यावि होत्था ।
सूत्र २०८ : कुंती देवी ने द्वारका से लौट कर यह सब वृतान्त राजा पाण्डु को सुनाया । पाण्डु राजा ने अपने पुत्रों को बुलाकर श्रीकृष्ण का आदेश बताते हुए कहा- " - " पुत्रो ! तुम दक्षिणी समुद्र तट पर पाण्डु-मथुरा नगरी बसा कर वहाँ पर रहो।"
पाण्डवों ने ‘“जो आज्ञा” कहकर पाण्डु राजा की आज्ञा स्वीकार की और बल, वाहन, घोड़े, हाथी सहित चतुरंगिनी सेना आदि साथ ले हस्तिनापुर से निकले । दक्षिण की ओर प्रयाण कर वे समुद्र तट पर पहुँचे और पाण्डु-मथुरा नामक नगरी बसा कर सुखपूर्वक रहने लगे।
208. Queen Kunti returned from Dwarka and informed all this in detail to King Pandu. King Pandu called his sons and informed them about the order of Krishna Vasudev. He added, "Sons! Now you should proceed to the southern sea coast, found a new town named Pandu-Mathura, and live there."
"As you say. With these words the Pandavs accepted the order of King Pandu and left Hastinapur with goods, vehicles, horses, elephants and army and proceeded south. After reaching the southern sea coast they founded a new town and named it Pandu - Mathura. And they resumed their normal happy life.
