Chapter 66
THE LORDS OF THE RAVINES
How did the great rivers and seas become the Lords of the Ravines? By being good at keeping low. That was how they become the Lords of the Ravines. Therefore in order to be the chief among the people, One must speak like their inferiors. In order to be foremost among the people, One must walk behind them. Thus it is that the Sage stays above, And the people do not feel his weight; Walk in front, And the people do not wish him harm. Then the people of the world are glad To uphold him forever. Because he does not contend, No one in the world can contend against him.

धादियों के स्वामी
यह कैसे हुआ कि महान नदी और समुद्र खड्डों के. घाटियों के स्वामी बन गए? झुकने और नीचे रहने में कुशल होने के कारण। इस तरह वे खड्डों-घाटियों के स्वामी बन गए। इसलिए लोगों के बीच प्रधान होने के लिए किसी को उनके अनुगत की तरह बोलना चाहिए। लोगों के बीच उनका अगुआ ठोने के लिए किसी को उनके पीछे-पीछे चलना चाहिए। इस तरह संत ऊपर होते हैं, और लोग उनका बोझ अनुभव नहीं करते, वे आगे-आगे चलते हैं, और लोग उनकी हानि नहीं चाहते। और तब संसार के लोग खुशी-खुशी और सदा के लिए उन्हें सिर-आंखों पर रखते हैं। क्योंकि वे कलह नहीं करते, इसलिए संसार में कोई उनके विरुद्ध संघर्ष नही कर पाता।
