________________ ( ५३९ ) शोभते इति तिर्यगाथामशोभी । ' शीलेऽजातौ णिन् ' इति शीलार्थे णिन् । बलिनियमने – ( 1 ) for the pounding down of Bali; ( 2 ) at the time of pounding down Bali. बलेः नियमनं बलिनियमनम् । तस्मिन् । बलिमर्दन काले बलिमर्दनार्थ वेत्यर्थः । विष्णोः of the sage Visnukumar. This alludes to the transformation of the body of the sage Visnukumar into a dwarf. Bali, the minister, was, being defeated in a hot discussion that had taken place between him and a Jain monk, was hurt at heart. Some days after, when he met with a host of sages, he, on remembering the former incident, got very angry and made his mind to offer all the monks in a sacrifice. The head of the host of the sages came to know that the sage Visnukumar possessed some supernatural power. He sent for Visnukumar. Visnukumar got himself transformed into a dwarf, approached Bali and begged of him for land that could be covered by his three steps. After securing from Bali that much land, the dwarf began to grow bigger and bigger and covered the whole of the earth by one step, sky by the second and by the third, put on his head, sunk him into the nether world. w like a mass or a column or धूमप्रचयः । अच्छच्छविभिः Stanza 71-72 - धूमप्रचयः इव a cloud of smoke. धूमस्य प्रकृष्टः चयः समूहः possessing or wearing white lustre or colour. अच्छा निर्मला | शुभ्रेत्यर्थः । अच्छा निर्मला छविः कान्तिः वर्णः वा येषां ते । तैः । This compound is to be construed with प्रोच्चलन्निर्झरौघैः, for it describes the streams. प्रोच्चलन्निर्झरौध: - on account of the foamy flows. निर्झरः - foam. ओघः a flow, a stream, a rivulet निर्झराः सफेनाश्च ते ओघाः पाथसा प्रवादाश्व निर्झरौघाः । ' सूर्याश्व फेनकर्पासतुषवह्निषु निर्झरः' इति ' ओघः परम्परायां स्याद्द्भुतनृत्योपदेशयोः । ओघः पाथः प्रवाहे च समूहे च पुमानयम्' इति च विश्वलोचने । निर्झराः फेनाः सन्त्यस्येति निर्झरः । ' ओऽभ्रादिभ्यः ' इति मत्वर्थेऽत्यः । प्रोच्चलन्तः प्रवहन्तश्च त निर्झरौघाश्च प्रोञ्चलनिर्झरौघाः । तः । I would like to Jain Education International - For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
