farasaià, derived by'affixing the termination 2017 ander the rule' qat ध्वर्थे णिज्बहुलम्'.
Stanza 70- बहुगुणम् - abounding in merits. अपदोषं - void of faults. मलिनितपरकाव्यम् - defiling all other poems. The adjectives बहुगुणं, अपदोषं and मलिनितपरकाव्यं qualify कालिदासस्य काव्यं and एतत्काव्यं equally. In Jinasena's view Kalid sa's Meghaduta was an excellent poem, abounding in merits and void of faults. Similarly he was of the opinion that his work also possessed a number of merits and dispossessed all faults. आशशाङ्कम् - until the existance of the moon. तिष्ठतात् - Here the Imperative termination ङ्तात् is affixed to the root स्था, instead of तु, under the rule 'तुह्योङ्तात् '. अमोघवर्षे - The
Rastrakuta king, Auoghavarsa by name, was.the disciple of Jinasena, the author of this work.
Stanza 71 - श्रीवीरसेनमुनिपादपयोजभृङ्गः - resembling a bee hovering on the lotuses in the form of the feet of the revered Sage, Virasena by name. श्रीमान् - having prosperity in the form of penance. गरीयान् -great. तच्चोदितन- impelled by him. परिवेष्टितमेघदूतम् - covering the whole of Meghadata. व्यधायि - was written. Aor. 3rd per. sing. of the passive of the root lagi. Like the author himself, Vinayaso na was also a disciple of the great Sage, Virasena. This Vinayasena impelled him to write this poem. There is no clue to prove the statement made by Yogirāja at the end of his commentary on this poem. On the other hand Jinasena bimself has clearly stated that it was Vinayasena who impelled him to compose this work and none else.
