________________ (६५४) 'मदनः स्मरधत्तूरवसन्तद्रुमसिक्यके' इति विश्वलोचने । मदङ्ग - my body: मम अङ्गं मदङ्गम् । पुष्पबाणैः तपति - when pains by means ok floral arrows. This is a Locative Absolute formed under the rule 'यद्भावाद्भावगतिः '. The five floral arrows of the god of love are enumerated in the following stanza - 'उन्मादनं शोचनं च तथा सम्मोहनं विदुः। शोषणं मारणं चैव पञ्च बाणा मनोभुवः ॥'. They are named as - उन्मादन, शोचन, सम्मोहन, शोषण and मारण. उन्मादन - that which inebriates. शोचन - that which causes griof. सम्मोहन - that which fascinates. शोषण - that which emaciates. मारण - that which kills. तपति - pains, torments. पुष्पभेदैः च प्रक्लुप्ते - made of a variety of flowers. पुष्पाणां भेदाः विशेषाः पुष्पभेदाः तैः। 'भेदो द्वैधविशेषयोः। विदारणे चोपजाते' इति विश्वलोचने । प्रक्लप्त - made of. तरूपे - in the bed. 'तस्पं कलत्रे शय्यायां तल्पमट्टेऽपि न द्वयोः ' इति विश्वलोचने । अनरूपं - very much. मुहुः दहति - scorches [i. 8. torments ] constantly very much. IE: - frequently, constantly. alaपाया - whom separation causes sharp pain. तीव्रः मर्मव्यथाजनकः अपायः विप्रलम्भः यस्याः सा । अरुन्तुदविरहेत्यर्थः। ' तीत्रमत्यन्तकटुके नितान्ते तद्वतोस्त्रिषु' इति विश्वलोचने । स्वप्नमात्रेऽपि - even in a dream. कृतान्तः - fate. 'कृतान्तो यमसिद्धान्तदेवेऽप्यशुभकर्मणि' इति विश्वलोचने ।. The concourse of the young ladies means to say through Sambara that, as it is impossi. ble to get united with the Sage actually when awake, the concourse of the young women, desirous to bring about a union with the Sage in a dream, cannot have it even in a dream owing to its being deprived of sleep for having which it is trying by lying in thick bedes This is how the demi-god is again trying to disturb the Sage's mind by means of rousing feelings of compassion in his heart. .. stanza 36- स्वप्नजातात् - acquired in a dream. स्वप्ने स्वा जातः उत्पन्नः स्वप्मजातः । तस्मात् । त्वदुपगमनप्रत्ययात् - by reason of knowledge of your approach or of our approch to you. aa cat ar 39गमनं समीपप्रापणं त्वदुपगमनम् । तस्य प्रत्ययः ज्ञानम् । तस्मात् । हेती का । Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
