Dharana implies that his wife was very much grieved at the time when he and his wife were separated from the Sage on account of their bodies being scorched by the fire enkindled by a arte by putting a log of wood which he and his wife had entered into. अनुकूला - favourable. gai aet - this female friend of mine. Hifitat - the female serpent. आश्वास्य - having conciliated. श्रेयस्कामाः - desirous of attaining bliss; seeking happiness. श्रेयसे कामः इच्छा येषां येषु वा श्रेयस्कामाः । It is better to explain this word as - श्रेयः कामयते इति श्रेयस्कामः । The root कम् , being preceded by its object श्रेयस्, has the termination ण (अ) affixed to it under the rule 'शीलीक्षीक्षम्काम्याचक्षणः '.
