________________ (६७०) pound, implying अभ्यास (सामीप्य), formed under the rule 'झिः सुब्-'. grada: - who has thrown away the mountain-like huge piece of rock, मुक्तः परित्यक्तः शैलः शैलसदृशः महान् प्रस्तरखण्डः येन सः। सभयं - through fear. भयेन सहितं यथा स्यात्तथा । अपयातुम् - to run away. अभिज्ञानदानात् - from the evidence forwarded in proof. अभिज्ञायते अनेनेति अभिज्ञानम् । तस्य दानं प्रतिपादनम् । तस्मात् । कुशलिनम् - doing good, a virtuous man. सच्चारित्रः इत्यर्थः । कुशलं पुण्यं (सद्गुणः) अस्त्यस्येति कुशली। 'पर्याप्ति-क्षेम-पुण्येषु कुशलं शिक्षिते त्रिषु' इत्यमरः । A person, who is virtuous, does what is good. मा अपयासीत् - do not run away; do not withdraw. अपयासीत् - Aorist 3rd per. sing. of अप+ या. भवान् माऽपयासीत् = स्वं माऽपयासी । पलायस्वेत्यर्थः । Here, अ of the Aorist is dropped. Stanza 52 - पूर्वजन्मनि - in the former birth. पूर्वस्मिन् जन्मनि पूर्वजन्मनि । प्रियसहजकः - a dear brother. सह जायते सहजः । भ्राता । 'समानोदर्यसोदर्यसगयंस हजाः समाः' इत्यमरः। स्वार्थे कप्रत्ययः । प्रियश्चासौ सहजकश्च प्रियसहजकः । स्त्रीकाम्यन् – wishing to have the wife of Marubhūti; wishing to have sexual intercourse with the wife of Marubhati. स्त्रियं मरुभूतेः पत्नी आत्मनः इच्छतीति स्त्रीकाम्यन् । स्त्रीकाम्यन् is a verbal noun derived from the verb स्त्रीकाम्यति, which is formed from the noun ali by affixing the termination #1721 to it in the sense that the subject of the verb afinitala wishes for that which is expressed by the noun to which the termination $174 is affixed, under the rule 'caq: 91773 The word til, to which the termination #1797 is affixed, refers to Marubunti's wife, for Kamatha is described here as wishing for a woman though he is married. वैरकाम्यन् - wishing to come into antagonism with. वैरं मरुभूतावात्मनः इच्छतीति वैरकाम्यन् । Hore also the termination 1727 is affixed to the word die under the same rule as given above and for the same purpose. प्रसभं - perforce. अवधीः - killed, Aorist 2nd per. sing. of the root हन् . मौढ्यात् - through foolishness.
