(૩૮) વાસ્થઢિકનો ર ઘર્મર મવત: પૃથવા साध्यसाधनयो ददर्शनाद् दर्शन भवेत् ।।
* બાહ્ય રીતરિવાજ અને ધર્મ નેખા છે. [ ધર્મ સાધ્ય છે અને રીતરિવાજેની ઉપયોગિતા એને (ધર્મને) અનુકૂળ થવામાં છે. ] આમ, સાધ્ય અને સાધનને ભેદ સમજ એમાં સમ્યગ્દર્શન રહ્યું છે. ૩૮
* Practice of true Dharma and observance of external rituals are two different things. ( The for. mer is the end and the latter, the means. ) Proper realization of the distinction between the end and the means, leads to Darshana ( correct understanding ). 38
