अहिंसा परमो धर्मः सर्ववात्सल्यलक्षणः। अन्ये सर्वे तदात्मानो गुणाः कल्याणकारिणः ।।
* અહિંસા પરમ ધર્મ છે. બધા તરફ વાત્સલ્યભાવ એ એનું લક્ષણ છે. બીજા બધા કલ્યાણકારી ગુણે અહિંસારૂપ છે–એમના ગર્ભમાં અહિંસાનું જ તવા પ્રાણરૂપે રહેલું છે. ૩૭
