हिंसा परस्याऽकुशलैषणेऽपि
परापकारे पुनरुच्यते किम् ? । विश्वाङ्गिमैत्रीरतिलक्षणां योऽ
जानादहिसां स हि वेद तत्वम् ।।
બીજાનું બુરું ઈચ્છવામાં પણ હિંસા છે, તે પછી બીજાનું બુરું કરવા વિષે તે શું પૂછવું? અહિંસાનું વાસ્તવિક તત્વ દુનિયાભરના પ્રાણુઓ સાથે મૈત્રીભાવ અનુભવવામાં છે. અહિંસાનું આ લક્ષણ જે સમયે છે તે જ ખરો તત્વવેત્તા છે. ૩૯
