• Merit or sin acquired by one, is not connected with another, i.e. only he who earns merit or sin, has to experience the fruit of the merit or of the sin, not another. There-upon it can be easily understood that all the sools are separate. 16
[Every soul gets happiness of misery according to its own Karma. One's Karma, good or bad, gives its fruit to one's self, not to another. If one's Karma gives its fruit to another, then by the highsouled saints' exaltation of merit the universe would be lifted up, or would be degraded by the wicked men's intensity of sin. One rises or falls by one's own actions. Good actions raise one and bad ones degrade. One has to rise by one's own effort only. So persons desiring elevation of exaltation, must endeavour to amass the sublime wealth of pure and pious actions according to their abilities. This wealth is the only means for the achievement of ever-lasting happiness unalloyed with misery.
