________________ M - २२ This is a printed book of Yogsar. It was edited by Pandit Hargovinddas, the son of Sheth Trikamchand. It was published by Jain-Vividh-Sahitya-Shastramala of Varanasi in the year 1976 of Vikram Era. Thus, with the help of twelve manuscripts and one printed book I have corrected this scripture. I thank the donors of the photocopies of the manuscripts for their help. With the advice and guidance of Reverend Muni Jambuvijay Maharaj and Reverend Gurudevshree the manuscripts of many manuscript-libraries in Patan were scanned. I received the photocopies of above mentioned manuscripts from that work with the help of Muniraj Kruparatnavijay Maharaj. I am very grateful to them. I also thank Muni Krutpunyavijay Maharaj at this moment, who suggested me to write a commentary on Yogsar. Though I am not so talented to write a commentary on this great scripture, I very much liked this scripture after reading it and so, after thinking on its verses, I composed the commentary with the thoughts that sprouted in my mind. I have composed this commentary to establish the great truths hidden in this scripture in the hearts of all people, not to show my talent. I have not used any hard logic or hard grammar in this commentary. So, those who have studied Sanskrit language and have not studied any sanskrit scriptures can also understand it. The commentary of each verse consists of preface, verse, anvay (simpler from of the verse in which the words of the verse are arranged in order), literal meaning and description. I have quoted four hundred and one versions of one hundred and fortyfour scriptures in the commentary. I have decorated the commentary by questions, answers, illustrations and short summaries. In the year 2066 of the Vikram Era, Updhan Tap was held in Kevalbaug tirth at Sirodinagar in Rajasthan under the guidance of reverend gurudevshree. At that time, by the divine blessings of shree Munisuvratswami Bhagwan and gurudev I composed this commentary. I named this commentary as 'Padmiya Vritti' by the name of my grandgurudev Reverend Pannyas Shree Padmavijay Maharaj. This commentary has been checked by an intelligent Mahatma of my group, wellknown for his checkingworks. He didn't want to disclose his name. So, I haven't mentioned his name. I am very grateful to him too at this moment. This scripture along with its commentary is not for reading just once and understanding its literal meaning, but after reading it thoroughly again and again its moral should be known and applied in our lives. Talented persons must cram and recite the verses.
