R. Jain is a sceintific study of comparative religions of Hinduism, Christaianity, Islam and Jainism. He was convinced that all these religions contain the same tenets, the same doctrines, and the same instrucions: but it requires a regular study of Religions as a Science and of the poetical style of the compositors of the sacred works to understand this unity. As time passed, the knowledge and wisdom of the sacred boods was expressed in metaphorical thought by Hindus, Parsis, Jews, Christians and Mohammedans. They went on allegorizing the doctrines of the spiritual science regardless of consequences. The author says that as no one is born with an understanding of allegories therefore soon the real purpose of these poetical pictures became unitelligible to men. Ignorant of true meaning these allegories and the mythological compositions of sacred books were interpreted literally. This book is a collection of 13 lectures turned into 13 chapteres. These chapteres are connected with each other. In chapters I to IV, The author argues that Comparative religion is a science. Hi analyses that important tenets of Jainism, Vedism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christiaity & Islam and undertakes their comparative study with unbiased mind. In chapter IV, he discusses the religious metaphysics of six Hindu schools. He argues that there is a failure of scholara to unravel mythological thought. So he unravels the mystery of Muslim allegories in chapter V. He gives solutation to Hindu allegories in chapter VI, Jewish allegories in chapter VII and Christian allegories in chapter VIII. In rest of the chapters he discuses the concept of God, their rituals and practices and gives his summary and conclusions. The author arges that prayer, pilgrimage, meditation, and purification are common in all religions. The differences among religions are only at outworldly level.
