भूत, जीव और सत्त्वों को दुःख असाताकारक है, अशान्ति (अपरिनिर्वाण ) जनक है और महाभयंकर है । "
- ऐसा मैं कहता हूँ ।

140. First we will ask each of those philosophers (after establishing him in the principle he follows)-"O propagators of violence! Does misery please you? or not?"
When you say "No, misery does not please us," you will be stating the truth. We will simply add "As misery is unpleasant to you, likewise it is unpleasant, disturbing and terrible to everything which breathes, which exists, which lives and which has any essence or potential of life."
-So I say.
