When the ascetic realizes that the summer has set in he should discard the clothes he considers worn out. After duly discarding the worn out clothe he should either remain clad in just one piece of cloth or become unclad.
He should contemplate that following the concept of lightness (having minimum possessions) is best for an ascetic. An ascetic who has accomplished freedom from clothes perfects himself in austerities (like reduction of equipment and mortification of the body) with ease.
He should properly understand this (freedom from possessions) exactly as it has been propagated by Bhagavan in
the Agams and thoroughly and immaculately practice __equanimity. पर-सहाय-विमोक्ष : एकत्व अनुप्रेक्षा के रूप में
२२३. जस्स णं भिक्खुस्स एवं भवइ-एगो अहमंसि, ण मे अत्थि कोइ, ण याहमवि कस्सइ। एवं से एगागिणमेव अप्पाणं समभिजाणेज्जा। लाघवियं आगममाणे। तवे से
अभिसमण्णागए भवइ। ___ जमेयं भगवया पवेइयं तमेव अभिसमेच्चा सव्वओ सव्वत्ताए सम्मत्तमेव समभिजाणिया।
२२३. जिस भिक्षु के मन में ऐसा संकल्प जाग उठे कि 'मैं अकेला हूँ, मेरा कोई नहीं है, और न मैं किसी का हूँ', इस प्रकार वह अपनी आत्मा को एकाकी ही समझने लगता है तथा लाघव का सर्वतोमुखी विचार करता है। ऐसी एकत्व-अनुप्रेक्षा करने वाले उस भिक्षु को तप सहज में ही प्राप्त हो जाता है। ___भगवान ने (सहाय-विमोक्ष के रूप में) एकत्वानुप्रेक्षा का जिस रूप में प्रतिपादन किया है, उसे उसी रूप में जानकर सब प्रकार से, सर्वात्मना सम्यक् रूप में क्रियान्वित करे। FREEDOM FROM ASSISTANCE : CONTEMPLATION OF SOLITARINESS

An ascetic who resolves—'I am alone, neither someone belongs to me nor I belong to someone'-realizes that his soul is solitary or stands alone by itself, and contemplates about lightness from all angles.
