चउत्थो उद्देसओ
वस्त्र - विमोक्ष (तीन वस्त्रधारी मुनि का कल्प)
२१४. जे भिक्खू तिहिं वत्थेहिं परिवसिते पायचउत्थेहिं, तस्स णं णो एवं भवतिचउत्थं वत्थं जाइस्सामि ।
चतुर्थ उद्देशक
से असणिज्जाई वत्थाई जाएज्जा । अहापरिग्गहियाइं वत्थाइं धारेज्जा । णो धोएज्जा, णो रज्जा, णो धोतरत्ताइं वत्थाइं धारेज्जा । अपलिउंचमाणे गामंतरेसु, ओमचेलिए । एयं खु वत्थधारिस्स सामग्गियं ।
२१४. जिस भिक्षु ने तीन वस्त्र और चौथा (एक) पात्र रखने की प्रतिज्ञा की है । उसके मन में ऐसा विचार नहीं होता कि "मैं चौथे वस्त्र की याचना करूँगा।”
LESSON FOUR
वह भिक्षु ( अपनी प्रतिज्ञा के अनुसार ग्रहण करने योग्य) यथाएषणीय वस्त्रों की याचना करे और यथापरिगृहीत (जैसा गृहस्थ से प्राप्त किया है) उन वस्त्रों को धारण करे।
वह उन वस्त्रों को न तो धोए और न रंगे, न धोए रंगे हुए वस्त्रों को धारण करे ।
दूसरे ग्रामों में जाते समय वह उन वस्त्रों को बिना छिपाये हुए चले। वह ( अभिग्रहधारी) मुनि स्वल्प मात्रा में और अति साधारण अल्प मूल्य वाला वस्त्र रखे। वस्त्रधारी मुनि की यही सामग्री (उपकरण) है।

214. An ascetic who has taken a vow of possessing only three pieces of cloth and a bowl as the fourth (possession) does not think that he will beg for fourth piece of cloth.
That ascetic should beg for only those clothes that are prescribed for him and should use them as they are given to him (without any alteration or modification).
