However much I would like to contribute to the Commemoration Volume, I have not time to write a paper for this Volume. At my advanced age of 74, I am over burdened by the work I am carrying now. I am sorry for this situation but it cannot be helped.

Mahamuni Shri Hazari Malji Maharaj was a great savant who had practised what he has preached. Born in a business community of Rajasthan, he showed great asceticism and detachment from early boyhood and followed strict rules of jain order. He engaged himself in preaching the truth, enshrined in the order. Very few saints of our age have attained such high standard of personal merit and sadhna as was done by him.
On the occasion of publication of a Commemoration Volume for the savant of humanity, I pay my reverential homage to him.

मुझे यह जानकर प्रसन्नता हुई कि श्री हजारीमल जी म० की स्मृति में विशाल ग्रंथ प्रकाशित किया जा रहा है। मुनि का जीवन जितना पावन होता है— स्मरण भी उससे कम पावन नहीं होता। अतीत के अगणित सन्त महात्माओं की जीवनी आज भी प्रेरणा का प्रवहमान प्रबल स्रोत है ।
मैं आपके प्रयास की सफलता की कामना करता हूँ और चाहता हूँ कि स्मृतिग्रंथ राजस्थान के साहित्य, संस्कृति, धर्म, नीति के क्षेत्र में किये गये अतीतकालीन महान् प्रयासों का एक उज्ज्वल प्रतिविम्ब बन सके। बरकतुल्ला खां स्वायत्तशासन मंत्री, राजस्थान पूज्यपाद लोकोत्तर सन्त स्वामी श्री हजारीमल जी म० की स्मृति में प्रकाशित होने वाले ग्रन्थ की मैं पूर्ण सफलता चाहता । स्वामी जी म० का पवित्र जीवन जगत् के लिए पथप्रदर्शक है । इससे अनेक जिज्ञासुओं को प्रसन्नता होगी ।
