( १६ ) देहोत्सर्ग किया। यहां के अन्य बहुत से लेखों से सिद्ध होता है कि चन्द्रगुप्त मौर्य का ही दीक्षा-नाम प्रभाचन्द्र आचार्य था । लेख से कुछ दूरी पर एक गुफा है जो 'भद्रबाहु की गुफा' कह लाती है । कहा जाता है कि वहीं भद्रबाहु का समाधि मरण हुआ था । उनके चरण चिह्न भी गुफा में अंकित हैं। "लेख'जिस शिला पर है उसके ठीक सामने 'चन्द्रगुप्त वस्ती' नामक एक खण्डित मंदिरों का समूह है, जो बहुत प्राचीनता लिये हुये हैं। कहना न होगा कि इस पर्वत का नाम चन्द्रगिरि व 'मन्दिरों का नाम चंद्रगुप्त वस्ती चन्द्रगुप्त मौर्य के नाम पर से ही पड़ा। मि० टामस लिखते हैं:
" That Chandragupta was a member of the Jain community, is taken by their writers as a matter of course, and treated as a known fact, which needed neither argument nor demonstration, The documentary evidence to this effect is of comparatively early date and apparently absolved from suspicion......The testimony of Megasthenes would likewise seem to imply that Chandragupta submitted to the devotional teachings of the Sramanas as opposed to the doctrines of the Brahmanas"
