P. 17. L. 6-9 (Verse 17). Why do you run like a female deer, terrified because of the pursuit of the hunter and tossing around. You whose delicacy is removed in fear, who ply your feet, expert in dancing (to and fro) and whose eye is troubled, tremulous and contracted towards the corners. -- [ परिवर्तितसौकुमार्या. ] परिवर्तितं द्रुततरगमनाय परित्यक्तं सौकुमार्यं यया सा. Who has given up her tenderness for quick motion. - [ नृत्य ०.] नृत्यप्रयोगे विशदौ पटू. Nimble in dancing. - [ उद्विग्न०] उद्विग्नं व्याकुलं चञ्चलं च यथा तथा कटाक्षे नेत्रप्रान्ते विसृष्टा दत्ता प्रेरिता सा. Who has contracted her eyes at the ends and is casting tremulous glances fearfully around (so as to see the pursuers).— Metre वसन्ततिलक. Figure उपमा.
P. 17. L. 11–14 ( Verse 18). Why do you go, run, ply and stumble. _ Young lady! be pleased, you will not die, stop please, poor creature! my heart is really burning with love like a piece of meat on the blazing coals. – [ याशि &c. ] Tautological expression characteristic with the Sakara. Cf. 'अपार्थमक्रमं व्यर्थ पुनरुक्तं हतोपमम् । लोकन्यायविरुद्धं च शकारवचनं विदुः ॥' His speech is full of (श s) which replaces ष and स ( Cf. षसोः शः ). Hence the name. V. supra. P. 9. - [ वाशु.] बाले. 'बाला स्याद्वासूः' इत्यमरः . - [ हडके. ] Sanskrit हृदय हडक in Prakrit. and are interchangeable, one is dropped for the sake of the metre. Cf. Persian 'Halaq.' Metre-Vasantatilaka.

P. 18. L. 2–5 (Verse 19 ). You, O my elder sister, fly in terror, like a pea-hen in summer with a tail in full feather; my master is leaping about like a cock in a thicket. - [ अन्तिका ] or अत्तिका. Elder sister. Another translation is अन्तिकात् मम, from me. – Metre उपजातिः - 'अनन्तरोदीरितलक्ष्मभाजौ पादौ यदीयावुपजातयस्ताः । इत्थं किलान्यास्वपि मिश्रितासु वदन्ति जातिष्विदमेव नाम ॥ . '
P. 18. L. 7-10 (Verse 20). Why do you run away trembling like the young plantain, wearing the red garment whose skirt is shaken by the wind, throwing multitude of buds of red lotuses and thus resembling the bed (lit. cave) of red arsenic shattered by the axe. - [ पवन ०.] पवनेन लोला चञ्चला दशा अञ्चलभागो यस्य तम्. Whose edge is tremulous. – [टङ्कः . ] 'प्रस्तरविदारणसाधनास्त्रविशेषः, 'टङ्कः पाषाणदारणः' अमर:, (टंकू + अच्) A stone-cutter's chisel . -- [ मनःशिल. ] Red arsenic. It is generally feminine (मनःशिला ). Here it is masculine. 'मनःशिला मनोगुप्ता मनोहा नागजिह्विका । नैपाली कुनटी गोला' अमर. – Metre वसन्ततिलक. Figure मालोपमा.
