P. 198. L. 7. [ऊपरं]-(ऊष् + मत्वर्थीयो रः) A barren spot with saline soil. 'स्यात् ऊषः क्षारमृत्तिका.' 'ऊषवान् ऊपरः' उभयत्राप्यमरः.
P. 199. L. 1-2 (Verse 16). The cygnet disdaining her mate as brilliant as the autumnal moon and lying on a sandy bank has approached the crow for intercourse.--[शर०]-शारदशशिनिभंcounterpart of the antumnal moon.-पुलिन०]-पुलिनान्तरे सैकतमध्ये शेते इति तं-sleeping on a sandy bank.-[समुपस्थिता]-उप + स्था-to approach for intercourse. Cf. Bhattikâvya V. 68.
___ "सुकृतं प्रियकारी त्वं के रहस्युपतिष्ठसे ।
पुण्यकृत्राटुकारस्ते किङ्करः सुरतेषु कः" ॥ also cf:-पतिमुपतिष्ठते नारी.-[प्रतीकाश] means 'similar to' when it is the last member of the compound. 'स्युरुत्तरपदे त्वमी। निभसंकाशनीकाश.. प्रतीकाशोपमादयः' इत्यमरः.
अत्राप्रस्तुतहंसहंसीवायसैः प्रस्तुतानां वसन्तसेनाचारुदत्तशकाराणामुपस्थितेः अप्रस्तुतप्रशंसालङ्कारः. 'अप्रस्तुतात् प्रस्तुतं चेद्गम्यते पञ्चधा ततः । अप्रस्तुतप्रशंसा स्यात्.' Sahityadarpana 706.
