metre. अत्राप्रस्तुतस्य कमलस्य प्रशंसया चारुदत्तस्य प्रशंसा व्यज्यते-तेनात्राप्रस्तुतप्रशंसालङ्कारः. Though a lotus has its petals &c. withered up still the honey-hunting black bees don't abandon it; so I cling to Chârudatta who possesses virtuous conduct and beauteous formeven if he be poor now.-[परिलोभसे] grammatical blunderच्युतसंस्कृतिः-the root being gunated and used in the Atmanepada.
-[जातदोषः]-guilty. अनपराधाया मे वधाभिलाषजनितदोषदूषितस्त्वं. You whose guilt is glaring in your face with your desire to throttle ine.-[सुचरितचरितं]-सर्वजनाल्हादकं, अनवद्यचारित्र्यभूषितं च.

Bhâgavata. चाणक्यः -A celebrated writer on civil polity, the friend and adviser of Chandragupta and a character of the greatest im- . portance in the Mudrārakshasa, also called कौटिल्य विष्णुगुप्त &c.-- [धुन्धुमार.] Slayer of Dhundhu, a demon who annoyed the saint Uttanka, a solar king of Ayodhyâ, properly called Kuvalayâs'va.
