- P. 184. L. 7-10 (Verse 2). He who conquers the five (senses) and destroying ignorance (lit. a female) protects himself (lit. the village) also kills the despicable (egotism) most surely, goes (lit. enters) to heaven. ___The words जनाः, स्त्रियं &c. are all लाक्षणिक (indicatory, having secondary sense). वैतालीयं वृत्तं-'षड् विषमेऽष्टौ समे कलास्ताश्च समे स्युनों निरन्तराः. न समात्रपराश्रिता कला वैतालीयेन्ते रलौ गुरुः.'
P. 184. L. 11-14 (Verse 3). Why shave the head and chin when mind is overwhelmed with ignorance (lit. not shaved). Certainly he has his head beautifully shaved whose mind is wholly purified. वैतालीय metre. shaving the hair for a Dandin is enjoined by Manu
क्लप्तकेशनखश्मश्रुः पात्री दण्डी कुसुम्भवान्.
विचरेन्नियतो नित्यं सर्वभूतान्यपीडयन्. P. 184. L. 16. [पुष्करिणी.] Abounding in lotuses, lotus-pond. (पुष्कराणि सन्त्यस्यां-इनिः पुष्करादिभ्यो देशे ५।२।१३५). 'पुष्करिणी चेभ्यां सरोजिन्यां जलाशये.'

P. 185. L. 9. [आपानकं.] Liquor-shop, a place for drinking in company. (ताम्बूलीनां दलैस्तत्र रचितापानभूमयः Raghu 4:42.) पिबन्त्यस्मिन् -अधिकरणे ल्युट्. 'आपानं पानगोष्ठिका' इत्यमरः.
P. 186. L. 1. रक्तमूलक.] Red radish. It is eaten as a relish to excite thirst and improve the flavour of the liquor.' Wilson. .. P. 186. L. 2. [निवेद.] Despondency, depression of spirits. ____P. 186. L. 4-7 (Verse 4). Here the lonely deeds are performed by the trees affording delightful shelter to the houseless; and it is just like the heart of the wicked or a newly acquired kingdom to be enjoyed without an order. उद्यानं रक्षिपुरुषविरहेण विशृङ्खलतया च दुष्टहृदयनवोपार्जितराज्यतुल्यम्. औपच्छन्दसिकं metre. उपमैवालङ्कारः.
P. 186. L. 8. [उपासकः] A worshipper of Buddha, also a Stdra. P. 186, L. 14. [*] Blessed, fortunate; also an infidel, athiest. —[gou:.) pure, holy; also a trough for watering cattle.
P. 186. L. 15. [श्रावकः.] Heretic.-[कोष्टकम्.] Brick trough for watering cattle. .. P. 187. L. 6. [जहिं दाव &c.] Notice his folly. . -_P. 187. L. 9. [एकप्रहारिक]-एकप्रहारवन्तं-Having one blow- . i.e. will kill at one stroke. Cf. Punjabi झटकाना.
